People don't change

People dont change! Face it.
Nobody likes changes. Nobody. They will do anything necessary to prevent it.
I have this idea that everyone is born with the same set of personality. Only as time pass, and as people grow up, depending on situation, some of these traits become dominant and some are less. That isnt changes. It's expression. Everyone has this lil' devil inside. Nobody is clean. Nobody is naive.
It's just a matter of which personality is expressed. Therefore, some traits are hidden inside there, I mean god knows where. They are still what they were! All the same! That is not changes. People are hypocritic. People lie. People dont change! People just want to be UNDERSTOOD! Make sense? no?

Movie in the flight

It was a long long flight. I endured 16 hours.
Journey from London to Nottingham another 4 hours.
SOme of the folks are from Brisbane. Jesus! Brisbane to Brunei apparently, according to em is 8 hours. Now that is hardcore.

Thankfully my personal Tv was working fine.

I tried Speed Racer. I gave up after 15 minutes. Its the worst of the ingenious usefulness of the blue screen. It's all CGI. What abuse.

I watched Kung Fu Panda. It was incrediblily cute as much as it was boring. The story formula is just classic 70s HK fighting flick on the silver screen. You know, Jackie Chan, crane, monkey, snake style. you get the picture.

Then i turn to the Forbidden kingdom. Okay, fair enough. I never seen Jackie Chan pairing up with Jet Li before. But then, it was a disastrous movie.

Then played some retarded games, watched Just for laughs.

Finally I tune into Sparrow. (The only chinese movie in sky show)
I thought HK movies were long dead since,,,uh I dont know when, but the last good one was Invisible target.

Sparrow is about a miserable woman living with an old geezer. She owed the old man alot of kindness he had offered to her. I presume she is from a poor family and desperately seeking help. The movie never really explore character in depth.
Just like a sparrow, she desired to be free, she decided to seek help from four pickpockets,in which the leader was instantly captivated by her charm when she was caught in his vintage camera. It's not a dirty, blood slash HK thriller. It's a graceful and very playful like. Pleasant to watch.

The plot is fresh. The film potrayed HK as a rather romantic and very europe like.
It's something artistic like watching a French movie. Well honestly, I never watched a French movie. I don't know why I compared in that sense anyways.

Another thing that I decided to try Sparrow is because of Kelly Lin.

Gathering and school visit

Last night, Me, TW Cheung, tzejin and ah long had a little dinner gathering. Was funny. Talked alot of crap and stupid past. Stupid it is, but it is part of the four of us, like a stain that can't be washed off.

TzeJin: Hey, I havent been to the school since donkey years! How about tomorrow pay a lil' visit.
TW Cheung: Okay, sure thing.
Ah Long:..........kanasai[*]...
Me: Okay, cool.
Me*thinks*: what the blazes?? Actually, I dont mind visit the school. It's close to my home, 30 minutes walk. I would like to meet the teachers too. Familiar faces. But I disliked awkward silence. That always happens. Imagine this,,,, you bumped onto a person you happen to know, exchanged greetings, chat a little, then suddenly, "now what?" , opps , g2g!

Anyways, here comes the core.

I'm sorry to say this. But I really mean it. The school is in a sad state. So bad.
It was a good school, it still is, well I think. The teachers were good, not awesome. There were some favoritism , here and there, biasness,,,yes, but doesnt matter, at the end of the day, they're cool. I know.

There used to be a wooden block of 4 classes for the pre-primary ( I was there!! Pra 1C!). They are now completely demolished. There were some building in progress, but stopped halfway. Apparently waiting for govt approval. That's what I understood and was told. The senior master house was completely up-rooted too. Weird, I dont know why the house is gone too. See, the funny thing is that, why the old wooden block is demolished BEFORE getting the new proposed building to be approved? This proved the first hypothesis of govt approval is wrong. Something is going on in the board of the school. The board of directors is like a taboo, since the management crisis[*] I dont know what's going on.

We met the librarian, Librarian was furious. Since the school lack of space for class rooms now, the library was converted to classroom. And the old principal house become the library. Since the house is actually within the vicinity of the school compound and has been abandoned. So might as well. It is I guess the only way, a desperate one too. No, actually not, before coming to this option, the school temporarily had the nomadic students classes held in laboratory. Which I think is more sensible. But Hell no, you think the school was smart, the parents werent dumb either. Complains came. Argument is they paid school fees so expect worthy teaching treatment and environment. Okay. treatment maybe just passed at brim, but environment is a no no. The laboratory is too hot for them. Jesus Christ! I had my times with no air con okay, well, until Form 1. Honestly I prefer fans. Better ventilation.

Bumped onto the History teacher. He is the editor of the school magazine. Chat for a while, he seem delighted. Then he asked each of us to write an article for the magazine to be posted. Uh oh, bad news folks. I know.

I was hesitant to do so. I dont know what to write anyways. Wait, maybe I should just copy and paste this piece of little blog article and sent it to him. How ingenious. But no. I wont do so.

I should have taken some pictures and posted here. But doesnt matter, the school was excatly the same as I remembered two years ago when I left for England. The situation was just as bad as today. A reminder, the proposal for the new building was in 1999 or way before that! So by next year I can still probably take pictures of today's images. This , I hope I am wrong. It is a good school, It shouldn't end like this.

[*] Kanasai- Actually, I dont really know what kanasai is. Probably some dialect. But I do know how to use it where approriate. Make sense? no?. whatever.
[*] Management crisis- The principal left in a day in 2005/6. Sacked? resigned? Rumors everywhere. None are confirmed. Only the principal and the inner circle knows.

Funny weather

I don't know why it rains everyday these days.
Started since last 2 weeks. It rains early in the morning. It rains in the evening.
I can't stop the rain.

Me: Hello, is this the weather forecast lady anchor?

Weather Forecast lady anchor: Yes??

Me: I'm just wondering, why does it ran everyday?

Weather Forecast lady anchor: Beats me. I only know how to stand in front of the camera in blue background, pointing the landmarks as if they are there.

Me: okay. bye.

Then the cocoon rings...

Me: Hello?

Caller : Is this the weather forecast man anchor? I just wanna ask why...

Me: Wu li wu ru pi li bo lo aa!!! haha,,,

*'Wu li wu ru pi li bo lo aa' is something that I come out myself and I don't really get it.
Commonly used to express a panicky frustration anger.

Rainbow

I like this song!
I like to play this loud!
In my cocoon!
In my laptop!
Everywhere I can!
So can you!

This is a sing out loud-get- together-party-gathering-type of blasting song!

*Uh, honestly, maybe my mandarin is bad. But as far as I understood, the song lyrics actually made no references to baseball. I don't know why the MV is about baseball. But anyways, this still Rocks!

Stargazer

If you google the word stargazer, you will come across these images.

By all means I dont know why this flower is known as stargazer.

or,,if you are fortunate/unfortunate you will feast your eyes with this horrid looking creature,

Yes, this fat fat fish isn't looking too deli. Seriously, I love to eat fish, and I know this is fat fat, but a no no to put inside tummy.

Close up profile. Rather obvious. This fish is named stargazer because of it's eyes. They usually lies beneath the sea bed and wait for prey to swim by. It's eyes are always staring up.

Now what I meant by Stargazer, a common nic I loved, apart the screen name Sven ( Scandinavian Language meaning 'boy') is simply like this.

I find the spelling of 'stargazer' neat. It sounds good too. The meaning intended is tilt your head back, chin up and stare into the sky.Aiming high. The night is awesome.

Fathering

Look at the man above. That's Homer Simpson. He is crude, incompetent at work, alcoholic, clumsy, and lazy. But interestingly, psychologists studies shows that he is actually a role model for modern men. Simply because he loves his wife, and most importantly, he spends time with his kids. He is a father who puts family first. Watch more Simpsons, less everything else.

What I want and what I have

What I want and what I have are two different things.
I originally wanted to be a teacher. It doesnt work out that way.
Now I ended up being an engineer. Better pay off though. Better career. But it's not what I wanted. I did it because ..I honestly don't remember.

I'm the youngest in the family. That sucks. I prefer to be the eldest, second or maybe third.
I'm fair skinned. That sucks too.

I went to English school. This is one of the greatest regret. Actually this was what I wanted. Well, when I was in Kindergarten. Parents asked if I wanted to join my sister in school at St Margaret's or with brother at Chung Ching. I was 6 years old. Happen to be closer to my sister. So, I ended up this way. Now I wonder, And I dont know who to blame, why would my parents allow a 6 year old kid to make decisions? Geezzz

When it comes to human relationship, I dont know what sin I have commited.
It was quite disastrous. Generally they fall into three categories.

1.They don't like me. ( Fair enough, easy to settle)
2.They are in relationship. ( ......I'm such misery seeker)
3. They are les. ( Nah, just kidding,,,,wait,,maybe they are, they just dont want to reveal, but seriously, some lesbos are quite adorable,,,hahaaha,,,)

Me : Oh, Wise Monk, can you enlighten me on how to appreciate the world better and be happy on what I have?
Wise Monk:....................
Me :.......uh? Wise Monk,,,hello,,
Wise Monk:...........................
Me : Aghhh! I just want to be a SIMPLE person wanting SIMPLE needs! Are you listening!??! See this machete I brought from Vietnam??!!
Wise Monk: *Smiling* Listen, don't you think it's impossible to find 'simple' things in this 'complex' world?
Me :!!!!

More K Time

My father likes to watch a channel that shows mainly in Hokkien.
I'm not really a fan, because I dont understand a word of Hokkien, or in this case more precisely Taiwanese dialect. Those soap are insanely long. 500+ episodes. Imagine the viewing time. Good Lord!

It's quite funny, Hokkien songs are like staple food for those who sings K.Their songs are just happen to be K-ish. Some doesnt even know the language like me. But they knew how to sing like a snap.

There is one OST that I personally find quite nice. The chorus part is always played in between commercials. I hated it at first. But, It slowly grows inside me. Isnt that freaky?

The MV is rather lame, nevertheless a good song.
Now what stir my interests more is this person resemble very much of a friend I know, at some bizarre angle. Well that's what I think. If you, readers, happen to have a name of your friend pop up when you see the pictures below, we probably knew the same person.

The singer is 龙千玉, Long Qian Yu. Quite a strange name.

K time

I was watching this show. Bai wan da ge xing.
"It doesn't matter if you can't sing, as long as lyrics can remember!"-Harlem Yu Chen Ching.
I like to watch it. Very funny. Man, Harlem is one cocky host, but in an entertaining way.

The concept is like 'who wants to be millionaire'. Except the contestants have to sing when the lyrics projected stop abruptly ( not really, got warning though) and carry on singing to fill the blanks. Songs are selected from many categories. Each catergory has three songs to be selected.

" Aiyo, you are messing up my thoughts now!!" argue one contestent struggling to recall.
" Eh? That's exactly what I am here for! " - Harlem.

I like the classics the show hand picked. Some are totally forgottten.
Honestly, I wasnt a good fan of the music industry until my first year. I was too bored. And I start listening. See, songs are funny things, they bring back memory, I can recall what I was doing when certain songs are played., i mean after sometime.

One rule I have is either I like the tune or the lyrics. Some songs have both. How can I love those less?

Now you will say this song is old. It's 96.
But hey, is there anything that beat the pre 2000 pop?

I would say this is not an oldie, it's GOLDEN SELECTION!

* Weird note. Zhang Yu is not only famous for his vocal and meaningful lyrics. His head is large, I mean literaly. haha,,
The MV damn dodgy also. Zhang Yu looks like a murderer..haha..
